danieldickison.com
This is Daniel Dickison's personal web site. By keeping the content simple, I hope to keep this a relatively-permanent fixture (unlike my previous attempts at blogging).
I currently live in Pittsburgh, PA, with my wife Joyce and work as a research programmer at Carnegie Learning, Inc. I can be reached at <my full name>@gmail.com
Programming
These are my current and past programming projects, at various levels of development. I hope to post all source code soon.
-
Etsy Addict
A simple iPhone app to make browsing Etsy.com more fun.
-
Wi-Fly
Remote control X-Plane joystick on your iPhone.
-
CocoaDarcs
A simple Mac OS X GUI for the darcs version control system, designed to make common tasks very easy and intuitive. While limited in functionality, I use it regularly to keep track of my personal programming projects.
-
iTunes Puppeteer
A planned combo of an iPhone app and a Common Lisp-based desktop server that would serve as a remote control for iTunes. I guess it was such an obviously good idea that Apple built-in that functionality into iTunes 7 along with a free app for the iPhone.
-
cl-applescript
A Common Lisp library for interacting with AppleScript, originally written for iTunes Puppeteer.
- A few Yahoo! Widgets. I have virtually stopped developing these as of 2008.
-
iTunes Bar
A compact, skinnable iTunes desktop controller that's been downloaded more than 180,000 times. It occasionally shows up on the Yahoo! Widgets home page as a "Top Rated" widget.
-
Kalculator
A standard-issue calculator designed for usability and aesthetics.
-
Music
I play guitar in the band Chet Vincent and The Big Bend.
I'm also a part of The One Night Stands whose members are scattered across Tokyo, DC and Pittsburgh, and only get to play shows ever couple of years.
